Phyllostachys - viridis cv. 'Robert Young'
A beautiful giant yellow-gold bamboo with some random green stripping. Robert Young grows to 45 feet with diameters of 3 inches. its is a cultivar of the sold green P. viridis. It is a fine bamboo for landscaping because of the brilliant yellow culms which turn even more of an old-gold color in full sun. Robert Young's new culms are a sulfur-green color, later turning yellow.

Phyllostachys - viridi-glaucescens
A rare Chinese bamboo obtained from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew England. Viridi-Glaucescens grow to about 35 feet in height and diameters to 2 inches. The culms are sometimes quite oval in cross section in the basal area. Glaucescens is a vigorous straight growing bamboo with high quality wood. The new shoots are mild with a very little acidity when eaten raw.

Pleioblastus - argenteostriatus
A pretty, little, variegated, Japanese Bamboo. Grows to 2 or 3 feet in height. Makes an attractive ground cover. Has soft green leaves with white stripes. Grows best in semi-shade. The variegation may fade some in later summer.

Pleioblastus disticha - Dwarf Fernleaf Bamboo
Disticha is an attractive, low growing, Japanese running bamboo. Its leaves are more or less closely two-ranked on the branches, which give it a fernleaf appearance. Dwarf fern leaf grows about 3½ feet in semi-shade and to about 2 feet in height in full sun where it shows its fernleaf characteristic best. It makes a good ground cover and is very dainty and pretty in containers.

Pleioblastus - pygmaeus,Pygmy bamboo
A beautiful dwarf bamboo rarely growing over 12 inches in height. Makes a fine ground cover. Pleioblastus Pygmaeus spreads rapidly under good conditions and grows well in semi-shade. Pygmy bamboo can be trimmed with a lawnmower.

Pleioblastus - simonii, Simon bamboo
Simon bamboo is a fine medium size bamboo growing to 20 feet in height. It has erect culms and long dark green leaves which give it a very attractive appearance. Simon bamboo should make a very good container plant. Also is good for tall screens and hedges.

Pleioblastus - simonii variegatus
A variegated leaved version of the typical Simon bamboo. Variegata has both slender green and white striped leaves and wider solid green leaves on the same erect growing culm. Variegated Simon bamboo grows to about 16 feet in height. The best variegation occurs in the new leaves. Variegata grows dense enough for good hedges and screens.

Pleioblastus - viridi-striatus
A very beautiful dwarf bamboo growing about 2½ feet in height. its leaves are large, about 1½ inches by 8 inches and have the most striking coloration of any bamboo-a beautiful bright yellow-gold with dark green stripes. Leaves densely hairy on the lower surface. In the spring and early summer the leaves has an almost fluorescent quality when seen in the early morning sunlight. The color fades to a plain green later in the summer. Grows well in semi-shade

Pseudosasa - japonica, Arrow Bamboo
A fine ornamental bamboo widely grown in Japan and Central Korea. Arrow bamboo grows to 18 feet with diameter to ¾ inches. Its leaves are large, 5 to 13 inches long and ¾ to 1½ inches wide, dark green and very ornamental. Arrow bamboo is outstanding for quick screens and hedges due to its fast spreading characteristic. In the northern part of the U.S. it may not spread as fast as it does in the South and its rhizomes (main roots) may require curbing. Will grow in semi-shade.

Pseudosasa - japonica var. Tsutsumiana, Green Onion Bamboo
Grow to about 10 feet in height. Culms are green and develop a swelling above its nodes which resemble a green onion. Does not grow as rapidly as the typical form. Very good in containers
