Growing Information
What To Expect From Your Bamboo
First Year - sprouting from the original planting. Some rhizome growth.
Second Year - sprouting from the original planting and a few sprouts from the new rhizomes. The rhizomes begin to spread away from the plant.
Third Year - sprouting occurs near the first planting and more sprouts coming up several feet from the original plant. Due to a different rhizome system, Tropical Bamboo spreads very slowly out from the original plant.
NOTE: Sometimes the first year all growth takes place below ground. Also all growth is determined by many factors such as fertility of soil, type of soil, amount of light, and moisture, etc. The growth stages listed above usually occur on the average planting with a minimum of care.
